Father's Day Loot 2005

I just mailed off my Dad's Father's Day package. I still have to get my Stepdad's loot together but my biological dad is taken care of and in the mail.

My dad is getting some formerly digital pictures that I printed out at Costco. Costco has some really slick one hour digital photo printing that is pretty quick and the cheapest I have seen. I printed out a stack of some photos of myself, my girlfriend and our five cats. I know it is somewhat egotistical but if you don't give your folks pictures every year they will keep your Junior high yearbook pictures on the wall for everyone to see.

My dad has been especially cool this year since two weeks ago he mailed me that Xbox he won. One of the better ideas for psudo-holidays like Father's and mothers day is to get a pre-paid long distance calling card and giving your folks a call once a week or so. It just gets me how much the greeting card conglomerates want for a unimaginative slogan and cheesy drawing on card stock. I mean four bucks for a freaking card is highway robbery. Father's day is a holiday that it is best not to forget but it is not like a birthday or major holiday where you get time off work so I don't want to be lame and just get a card like the millions of other saps.
