Corporate Rock Incorporated Thinks You are Stupid

RIAA Lawyers makes Music Walk the plank comicThe RIAA is whining that the 11% drop in CD sales was due to MP3 pirates on the Internet. What a load of dung.

I think their 11% drop in sales is more likely to the fact that most of the major music released was derivative and unimaginative.

Oh and also there is a bad ass recession so perhaps one of the reasons that the US is not buying the same amount of CDs is that the economy is 47% shittier than it was last year. There was only one new album released last year that I actually gave a shit about and that was 18 by Moby. Fans of comic books like myself can see that the music industry has been doing the same genre whoring that has been killing comics. By making copy cat artists who keep making almost the exact same content over and over again. How many Bling Bling rappers are out there? How many Boy Bands? How many angry white rap metal rockers? How many Barbie doll slut divas are out there?

No riaaThat is pretty pathetic if I am in an 18 to 30 Male target audience and there was only one CD that I was interested in. The RIAA should be knifing their parents to have me as a loyal customer.

Corporate Rock Incorporated needs to realize that they are not protected from the economic fall out of the past year and that they can not survive by keep pushing the same old crap in a new package. The America people are not that stupid.

AMEN! I haven't been interested in an entire CD in quite a while. It seems there are 1 or 2 songs off an album that I like, but that's about it. I think Rufus Wainwright was the last one I bought ... and that was over a year ago.

They're just upset that their "tried and true" recipe for hit music isn't working anymore. They don't want to have to try, just to push the music and we buy it. Well that don't cut it anymore! Fucktards.

What are you guys talking about? Britney and the backstreet boys are the bomb!!! I especially like Justin....he's soooooo Dreaaaammmy!!!
**choke**

Great post, the RIAA needs to realize if they want to sell, they must sell more than one hit wonders... or albums with 1 or 2 good songs...
