Coming Soon : The Return of Cat Comics and Video Podcasts
I guess the big announcement that I have is that I have been working on returning two features of 8bitjoystick.com that have long been neglected. Video Podcasts and Cat Comics.
Video Podcasts: This weekend I broke out my DVD Recorder out of storage and hooked it up to my video game TV set up. Now that I have DSL I can enjoy video podcasts and create and post them. It took a bit of work but I was finally able to get my Xbox 360 to show up on my DVD Recorder and I digitized video for three future video podcasts. I am going to try to make it a weekly feature since it take a lot more effort than just writing a print review or posting a bunch of news links. One thing that I am going to do is to have a Flash video version embedded in this site via YouTube or something like it so I will be able to actually capture banner ad revenue from video podcasts. I mean I like doing them but they take ten times the effort of a regular print post and since they are delivered via RSS syndication I can't make a dime off them. This way it will be worth the effort.
One question. Would you rather have video blog posts in 320X240 or 640X480? The bigger format would look better on TV but take a longer time to download.
Cat Comics: I wrote a few good Cat Comics and I will be purchasing a full retail version of ComicLife. I just think they are fun to do and I have about a million pictures of my six cats. Also they are among the most popular thing I have ever done on Flickr. So if you don't like the Cat Comics just ignore them. Yes I do know that keeping six cats is completely insane. I am reminded of that on a daily basis.
Oh my girlfriend Kymberly has really started blogging at her site FelineNoir.com so check it out again won't you? I wrote a guest post about a kick ass chicken salad I make for her.

Maybe for the first one you should try having a link to each version, so see how they are and look. But if I had to choose one, I'd have to say the larger of the two. Trying to check out a games graphics, or the little details of a review can be hard when the video is so small, and since you will be using youtube, it should go pretty fast.
