First post on first comic!
Good luck. And you can be sure SIT will not unblock your website now with content like this. :p

Hiya Jake -
I'll say it quick and up-front:
I'm a big fan of your writing and your site.
I'm not a big fan of your comic.
I do applaud your effort and creativity is a wonderful thing, but please - keep the game updates and punditry we all love at 8bitjoystick going and do the webcomic thing as well or on the side.
I really hate to put a criticism on the board but I'm not completely talking out of my butt - I've tried this road [http://www.glitchnyc.com/images/Glitched_Ep1.jpg] and failed at it myself.
Some of the arguments against a webcomic in place of a blog:
"Artists" in the audience will criticize everything from perspective to line width to style. Nothing will be good enough or “correct.”
You will criticize your own work heavily, hating the "old" comics and forever striving for better. (See: Fred Gallagher [http://www.megatokyo.com])
You'll always be behind, due largely to the two above mentioned items and life's random nature.
Since you're behind, updating becomes a chore you have to do rather than something to do easily when on the computer for a bit.
The final reason for not replacing the site with the comic: if you don't succeed at the comic – we lose both that AND the great site you have now!
My vote – keep 8BJ alive as it is today with a few comics here and there unless you really love doing it. Anyone else agree?

well, i thought it was cute and it got a chuckle out of me...as for the "direction" of the site, i think you should do with it whatever the freakin' hell you want (which is what you will do anyway)...those of us who enjoy the site will always be back for more ;) heh

Glitch stop WHINING! He he, I think there's room for comics and the other stuff. The comics I draw have always gotten better as they go along and there's nothing wrong with that. Tally ho!

I'm going to have to agree with Glitch. Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I just didn't get this comic. I find myself checking your site 1/3 as often as I used to. Eventually, I'm afraid it will grind me down to not checking it at all. But its your site so I'm sure you don't give a shit what i think.

I am not behind I just spend my time drawing my comic rather than working on the site. I still plan on having a new comic three times a week. The 2nd one will be at midnight tonight and the third will be Friday.
I will still review games and talk about stuff but the majority of content on this site will be the comic.
Yes it will get better but I think it will be a fun hobby. I have loved comics and webcomics for years and it is about time that I got off my ass and actually made one.

Hey, I'm liking the webcomic idea. In fact, your recent aspirations have inspired me to get my own webcomic out of development hell and off the ground ( http://www.angel-assassin.com Webcomic coming soon!).
Just a suggestion, though.. I think you should put your comics into their own category, rather than cramming them into 'Stuff.' Makes for easier browsing.
Thanks for your time.. =)

I will do that soon.
