Caution! Wet Digital Paint

Watercolor Sketch GirlPainter is an mind blowing program. It is such an empowering feeling just messing around in it with a Wacom Table. It can be as entertaining as any new video game. Here is a quick pencil sketch that I played with the water color brushes. This was created 100% digitally in Painter. Painter is one of the programs that made me want to create computer graphics. Was listening to some TATU mp3s at the time so I guess It is sort of a sketch of one of them but it isn't a portrait of anything. Some people make photo blogs, I now have my Wacom tablet back and should do a lot more sketches.

There really is no competition for what it does and for creation of texture maps there is just no contest. Photoshop and Gimp are great but the painting tools are just pathetic when compared to the sophistication of Painter.

I guess that they both have thier strengths,,,,,you cant use painter like photoshop and vise - versa.........
I think that painter must be really cool for texturing in 3DsMAX an whatnot. Creating CUSTOM tiles and stuff for usage in L33t G4MXZ05Z!!!

I had a grayscale version of painter (called Sketcher!) some years back. I liked it!

That's pretty cool. It looks like one of my cousins. I've never heard of Painter... have to look into that.

When I first started reading this, I thought you were talking about MS Paint ... I thought, "surely he must be joking." Then I realized it wasn't Paint, but PaintER

Well I hope that all that money I spent at Art school on tuitions didn't go to waste. I have been drawing with a Wacom tables for about 10 years now and to me drawing with a mouse is like trying to draw with a brick of soap.
