Born to Tweak CSS

Nes ControllerI used NVU to update the CSS file and logo for this site. I like it better visually now that I have the side column aligned next to the main one and I lightened up the borders.

I was getting sick of the blue links and like this color scheme. I have the hover states on the links displaying a yellow highlight when you move the mouse over. That gives it a cool HyperCard feel. It is very old school Hypertext.

I still have the old CSS design backup should I need it again. I checked this design out in Mozilla, IE and Safari. If you notice any glitches do let me know.

If you notice most of the colors of this site are the colors of the original 8-Bit Nintendo. That is not an accident.

I think the red on black color scheme is a little too hostile. I liked yellow better -- at least for the logo. But thats just my opinion. =)

I agree with Alex on the red being to hostile. I feel like "I have visited every link and am now done here... time to go... no more new content..."

How about using the dark gray from the little rectangles on the controller for the unvisited link colors?

Like the mouseovers, but the title is harder to read now.

Apart from that, it's a change from the norm.

Unlike everyone else, I have no criticisms of the new design. I love the retro NES look :)

I like the links being red.

Oh! Oh! This is somewhat unrelated, but did you see that they are releasing a gameboy SP that's themed in the same design and color scheme as the old 8-bit nintendo?

Your color scheme and controller pic just reminded me.
