Bookshelf of Gaming Doom and Coffee Table of Gaming Goodness 2007

Last night I spent a bunch of time digging old game systems out of storage and untangling a massive mess of wires and such in order to hook up at least one of all of my existing game systems.

All I need now is to find a Colecovision and a TurboDuo.

Since my HDTV does not like PSOne and N-64 games I had to forge the Bookshelf of Gaming Doom to counter the Coffee Table of Gaming Goodness. Behold!

Wow that's a lot of neato stuff. I like the Godzilla poster off to the side. But I still have a Gamecube with Gameboy player and a Turbo Duo. And a DVD player that skips commercials. And a large Ape Head. And you DON'T. So I'm clearly better than you!

And your large Ape head is full of all the Planet of the Ape DVDs. BBQ all you have to do to trump any gaming nerd is to whip out your copy of Dracula X : Rondo of Blood and boot it up in your TurboDuo.

I want to know why everyone loves "Nights" so much. I tried it once and found it really hard to figure out how to play, or how to play it well. Should I give it another chance?

Whoa. I just redesigned my entertainment center yesterday, myself, but now I might have to go... revise it, a bit. You're making me miss my old systems!

How the heck you gonna get SNES/N64 games under that shelf, though? Maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but it seems too cramped to fit a cartridge under it.

Your words are as empty as your soul!

Care to reveal your Wii Friend number to us? :)

Posted by: Matt at January 5, 2007 11:42 PM

Sure I will Matt. But until I get DSL again I can't go online with my Xbox 360 or my Wii so my Wii friend Number will not do you any good at this time. Today I took my Wii and my small TV to a coffee shop and bought some more virtual console games over their WiFi.

I loved Nights and still think it is one of the most creative 3d games on the Saturn. Sega's Sonic Team really really needs to remake it for the Nintendo Wii. Since Nights came with an analog joystick gamepad similar to the Dreamcast controller it would be completely awesome with the motion sensor controls of the Wii. I also have the "Christmas Nights" Demo disc.

Oh the angle of that photo does not show that there is enough space to get game carts in and out of the SNES and N-64. I wouldn't have put them there if I could not use them. PS I am enjoying a pint of Foster's Bitter right now. A beer from your continent.

This was the "NiGHTS" Analog Saturn pad. It is sort of the start of the Dreamcast's pad and it was the first controller to have the analog trigger style buttons that was on the Dreamcast, Xbox, Xbox 360 and Gamecube and Wii Classic controllers.
