I know that Microsoft sort of showed the Xbox 360 last Thursday but was vauge with technical details like not telling about Xbox1 compatibility and that Nintendo is letting some details about the Nintendo Revolution slip like GAMECUBE COMPATIBILITY!
The PS3 is going to be almost twice as powerful in the CPU than the Xbox 360 but it will be interesting to see how the games are going to be. Microsoft is shooting for Christmas 05 for the Xbox 360 and Sony is not going to bring out the PS3 until summer 2006. The PS3 is going to have wireless controllers and can wirelessly network with the PSP. There will be a optional hard drive and it can play a lot of digital media formats and memory cards. The backwards compatibility with the PSone and PS2 is going to make the PS3 the first of the new batch of game systems that is going to get my cash. I might have to get an HDTV just for this thing.
William Gibson would be rolling in his grave if he were dead. He is not so he is probably going to get a PS3 like the rest of us nerds. Wooha!

gigaflops -> blah, means nothing until I have seen games (same as Xbox 360 gigaflops is just blah!).

I agree. you don't play specs you play the games. But the specs look good.
Well I am sure there will be more normal style controllers for the PS3.

I'm psyched about the PS3. The Xbox 360 was big news for all of what now - a half a week? I think that once again Sony is going to be the big player in the market.
There is one problem though. The Xbox will be out well before the PS3. You have to consider the reason why the PS2 had such a hold on the gaming market was because the Xbox was slow to be released. By the time the Xbox was out, everyone already had a PS2.
The PS3 might just be pushed out of the lead if they don't release it around the same time as the Xbox. Sure it looks to be more powerful but if the Xbox is out there first then everyone is going to buy one.
Me, I'm waiting for the PS3. Great to actually see wifi built in, instead of having to buy a wifi adaptor as the Xbox would want you to do.
I'm sticking with Playstation. It looks great (love the controllers) and it looks like it'll have the power to change gaming.

No problem for me: I will buy both + next-gen Ninty too.
I like that Sony puts the competition back to where it belongs -> means cheaper consoles for us.
Personally I miss the games @ E3: I only get excited about the screenshots of the new Zelda: The Twilight Princess

I'm psyched about the PS3 as well... the realtime graphics processing that Sony showed during their Monday, May 16th 3pm press conference is jaw-dropping. Killzone might trump Halo 3, and Warhawk looks equally impressive.
I've been wanting to upgrade from my 720p DLP projector to a 1080i for some time now. Since the PS3 supports 1080p, I may very well have to upgrade to 1080p instead. I fully expect the PS3 to be the centerpiece of my home theatre. 54GB Blu-Ray is going to redefine high def gaming and movies.

The PS3 design looks like a piece of crap. I thought the PS2 design was bad...this is just awful.

The same way the PSTwo resembled a PCEngine Duo / TurboDuo, the PS3 somewhat resembles a PCEngine Duo-R... hmmmmmmm... I don't mind the design, as for the controllers I want to hold one before making up my mind. (still glad I opted for E3 NEXT year over this year) However, what's up with the Spider-Man font on the top?! If there's one thing that needs to be changed, that be it.

Well I think it looks pretty good. But then again you don't play the design of a console system. I could see having a PS3 on my coffee table next year.

The god damn thing looks like a printer. I might jam paper on the inside by accident. They need to redesign the thing.
