Beating The Wire Problem
I wanted to share with you all my solution to a issue that faces every hard core video gamer: The Wire Problem.
This is a mess of cords leading from your game console to your couch, chair or general place of sitting.
What I used to do is I had an Ikea coffee table with most of my game system and my TV was on a book cabinet with a mess of wires leading from the game systems to the TV and my AV switch box then I had a separate mess leading to my couch of all the controllers. I had a Genesis, NES, SNES, Dreamcast, Saturn, N-64, Gamecube and PS2 hooked up to the same TV and it was quite a mess.
So here is what I did. First of all I really only regularly play my PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast so I unhooked all my other game systems and placed them in storage in an air tight plastic storage bin. If I get the urge to play some NES or Genesis games I can always go get the system and plug it in the AV jacks in the front of my TV. The Dreamcast, PS2 and Gamecube are now under the TV in the book cabinet. All of their AV and power wires are out of sight behind and underneath the cabinet. My VCR, AV switchbox, Cable modem, and Wifi router are all there as well. There are lots of wires but they are all out of sight.
Next I took some controller extension cords for the Dreamcast, PS2 and Gamecube and run them from a wire protector and placed a small rug on top of it so that the controller connectors are now under my coffee table. Then I organized my controller and stored them underneath my couch in plastic storage trays. A wire protector is a flat U shaped thing so you do not trip on the cord and it keeps the cord on the ground. You can get these at most good hardware or office supply stores.
I don't have a Nintendo Wavebird but I might get one but I have been getting some good use out of my Madcatz Lynx Wireless PS2 pad. Thank god for Rechargeable NiMH AA Batteries.
I really should post some pictures because now my game console are over by the TV all nice and neat and I have all my controller underneath my couch and I can plug them in easily with out having a long visible wire running across the room. My place is really turning into a swank hipster pad.

You should post some pics of your newly renovated, revamped, hidden wired, swank, hipster pad.
