1. Of or relating to business conducted on the Internet: dot-com advertising.
2. Of or relating to a company whose products or services deal with or are sold on the Internet: a dot-com brokerage firm.

E-Sheep.com is a collection of really far out there web comics that place being cutting edge and cool over quality. They are a very cool non-commercial venture and they have some really good short stories.

The current one that really turns my head is Barracuda: The Scotty Zaccharine Story. It is a look at the inside attitudes and reality distortion fields and egos that were prevalent in the last dying days of the Dot-Com Boom. Not everyone who worked at a dot com were evil like myself and some former co-workers but there are couple former bosses who Scotty Zaccharine has nailed down perfectly.

What really gets me is the attitude out there that everyone who ever worked at a dot com is guilty of crimes against capitalism to the highest degree and that they deserve to suffer in the destruction of the industry.

Anyway I do guess some dot-commies are getting what they deserve but not all of them deserve this sorry state of affairs.

1999 seems like it was a millennium ago. Technically it was.. but you know what I mean.

i must be stupid or something b/c i have never understood what exactly 'dot com' was referring to...and i still don't...i loved the comic though...tres faboo...:)

In my mind the word "Dot-Com" was a new company who's whole form of business was dependant on the Internet. Either it be selling good, services or advertisements if the core revenue was Dependant on the Internet it was a dot com.

My old Dot com ( http://www.advanceonline.com/ ) used to not call ourselves a "dot com" but we were. It is quite dead by now.

My favorite e-sheep story has always been The Guy I Almost Was (http://www.e-sheep.com/almostguy). I like this Scotty Zaccharine story too, however. Wonder how it will turn out?

Yeah I love that one too. They are done by the same artist.

I doubt this Scotty Zaccharine will end in a happy ending. Like most dot com stories.
