HandBrakeIconWithiPod.pngI thought it would be about time to do my first real installment of Ask 8bitjoystick.com.

I had two good question from my post Mac The Ripper is Freaking Sweet!!!

Q: please forgive my ignorance, but can this program rip a PAL formatted DVD into a file that could be played on my computer and burned to a DVD that will play in an american DVD player?

Q: Is it possible to make Quicktimes of the DVD with MTR? Or can the ripped files be used in Final Cut? If not does anyone know of any programs for OS X that can do that, Because I have to edit footage that is on a DVD.

A: Well most normal video editing programs can't work with encoded VOB files from a DVD. So you will need to take a ripped DVD Video TS files and run them through a good Mpeg encoder program like Handbreak for Mac and now Windows.

These can make very big video files but they can be manipulated and edited like any other video files once they have been turned into an MP4 file. I use Handbreak in order to to get video files from my DVD recorder. Also if you have a PAL DVD then you can take the big ass video file and re-encode it into a NTSC DVD file in a program like iDVD.

But I warn you some serious digital video editing experience is needed as well as a hell of a lot of ram and hard drive space.

Q: Why is Mitsurugi such a gay ass clown? It just doesn't seem possible.

A: Because he is the master of a series of super easy combos that are pretty poweful. The average Japanese guy in a typical Japanese fighting game tends to be pretty good. Call it the Ryu syndrome if you will.

Q: Which PC Games are compatible with a joystick
Posted by: Eric at December 31, 2005 11:11 PM
A: Oh come on. There are tens of thousands of PC games out there. That is like me asking you what are all the roads that I can drive my car on? Can you tell me all the roads that I can drive on with my car?

Q: hi i found this one thing called wiflyer. so i was just thinking i should ask u if u have one because u seem to have a lot of things. ok right back to wiflyer i want to buy one just for my psp but i dont know if ts going to work for it.I want u to review wiflayer on the website. this thing looks cool only becaue its a wifi router that lets u use dail up and broadband. ok here is the website to wilyer www.wiflyer.com

B: I think that will technically work but it would be too slow to play PSP games with. Online PSP games are meant for a faster than dial up net connection.

Q: Hi,

A: Dude what do you have to ingest to think that this site sells new or used microwave popcorn vending machines?

Q: can you send some Megaman game?
Posted by: tpich at February 11, 2006 01:41 PM
A:No that would be piracy and that would be bad. Come on just go get Megaman Anniversary Collection for PS2 or Gamecube. It is a hell of a lot of classic Megaman games for like twenty bucks.

What happened to Phoenix Wright? Did it get to popular?

Ryu Syndrome? Ha...someone doesn't know their fighters very well...

Ryu has NEVER been good in ANY fighting game. He's been a standard character at most, even dating back to street fighter 2 world warrior.

E. Honda, Dhalsim, Chun-Li, or Guile > Ryu by 10 times.
