RE: PC-Engine games for the Wii Virtual Console in the US and European market
I have fond memories of my old TurboGrafx-16 and I wish that I still had it around. In the early 90s I was endlessly impressed and entertained by great games like Bonk, Ninja Sprit and Military Madness. My high school friend even went as far as importing a SuperGrafx to play PC-Engine games. A good friend of mine now days deeply enjoys playing imported PC-Engine CD games on his TurboDuo. I believe that if the North American and European gamers had seen the same level of quality titles that were released in Japan that the fate of the TurboGrafx/PC-Engine would have been quite different. I am extremely excited about HuCard games on the Wii Virtual Console and had a great time playing through Bonk again using my Wiimote. I look forward to the release of TurboDuo CD games for the Wii and would gladly pay a higher price than 600 Wii points. I would also buy additional SD Memory card storage for them. However I am concerned with the possibility of great Japanese PC-Engine games not being released for the Wii Virtual Console outside of Japan. It still stings that gamers outside of Japan were denied masterpieces like Konami’s “Dracula X : Rondo of Blood” and many more. I understand that making English version of these games are not cost effective since it would require additional programming from the original source of these games but there is a market for Japanese language PC-Engine games outside of Japan in the Wii Virtual Console. Please consider expanding the available games in the North American market Wii Virtual Console to include Japanese language PC-Engine games. US gamers are ready for them.
