Achtung! The Great Purge is Coming!

Since I am turning this site in to a web comic I need to make some room on the server.

So at the end of July I will be deleting all the articles that are not in the Games or Review category. So if you want to read something you better do it by then. I am going to download and back up all the articles but they will not be live on the the server after I do the great purging. If you want to archive this site as it is now take a look at WinHTTRack and download away.

I'll call it a Version 3.0 launch after then. I know that and Google users are going to freaking hate this.

Update: Hey I am sorry but server space and bandwidth are limited resources. I would rather clean out older stuff and make room for newer comics and content. I might push the deadline back until I start to run out of space but two months is plenty of time to download older articles using WinHTTrack.

I have 150 megs of server space used of my 200 available. I would love to host it on my own but I can't because I can't get DSL. I might run out of disk space once I start uploading comics.

Why does every great thing end? This site was so good.

Certain classic stuff needs to stay I think. Like Secret Plot.

Oh yeah. I will keep my favorite stuff.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...

Dude, drop me a line and I'll hook you up with some hosting.

No need to start deleting stuff. I can't have your coffee posts disappearing...

Are you going to change the name of the site? Or will the comics have video game inspired plots? (e.g. Jake and BBQ laying the smacketh down on the eternally great Sega whoop-ass machine)

AND remember this: The soul still burns!

I am not going to change the name of the site. I plan on calling the comic 8Bitjoystick. And it will have lots of games it it but it will not be restricted to games. I have 14 comics written so far but I have not started officially drawing the final versions.

I second Michael. If you need webspace, I have plenty to share. Just let me know, I will be happy to set you up with an FTP and plenty of space.

I sort of want to edit this site from the start and leave only the "Best of 8Bitjoystick"

Posted by: Jake of 8bitjoystick.com at June 7, 2004 9:31 AM

Fair enough. That is most definitely your right as a website owner/designer. But, if you do end up requiring space, the offer still stands.

A suggestion: why don't you move to another hoster? 200 MB is NOTHING.

There are a lot of webhosting companies that offer a lot more for 10-20 bucks/mo.
