A Warning About Upgrading. Back Up First!
I just wanted to issues a warning. Export and Back up your data when you upgrade to a newer version of a program.
On Saturday i tried to upgrade my Mozilla 1.5 installation to Mozilla 1.6 and the damn thing kept freezing when it got to the start up screen. I tried uninstalling 1.6 and reinstalled 1.5 but now 1.5 locked up. Damn it.
I spent several hours on Saturday trying to get Mozilla to run right but gave up and had to delete all my preferences and lost all my saved emails, contacts, calender events, saved form password data and other goodness.
Then to make matters worse my Windows XP task manager would only show the list of applications and not show any details or options. However in the alternative Windows XP log on everything was cool. I decided to take the plunge and erase my entire windows XP log on and I created a fresh Admin account on my Windows XP system.
I also thought it would be a good chance to switch to Mozilla Firebird and Mozilla Thunderbird for my default browser and email clients.
It is going to take me awhile to recover from the lost data with my Mozilla install but my PC now feels all new and fresh on the new log on account. So the moral of the story is back up your data before messing with a program installation.

Wow man, that's a bummer. I think Firebird is really close to 0.8. I dig the heck out of it.

Bah you don't need data anyways, back in my day it all died when we rebooted we had to store it all on punch cards not these panzie floppy disks. (said in jest, I am under the age of 20)
