A Gameboy Advance SP of a Different Color

Orange GBA SPThere were three colors of the Gamecube out in Japan originally, purple, black and orange. However the orange colored one never came to the states but some Japanese actually prefer brightly colored electronic devices. When Apple still sold the iMac in multiple colors the blue and purple sold the best in the US while the bright pink and orange sold well in Japan.

Limited edition and special colors of Nintendo products are not unusual and collectors eat this stuff up. So in order cash in on the new Pokemon games and Nintendo's new Pokemon Center they are going to be selling a limited edition bright orange Torchich edition Gameboy Advance SP. Torchich is one of the starting Pokemon in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. It probably will never come to the US but game importers are probably going to have a field day with it. Japanese Gameboy systems and games are 100% compatible with the US systems and games.

I still want my spice Gamecube!!!! Stupid $350 for and imported/modded Japanese Gamecube... if anyone has seen then for cheaper, please correct me! And if anyone knows IF a Japanese Gamecube that has been modded has Japanese menus or won't work with US products like the Gameboy Advance Player, please contibute!

I don't have my SP yet, but should before the month is out.

But orange? I dunno. My Visor PDA was orange and I got used to it.

Still, I'd rather have a shiny chrome SP. Those will probably be out the week after I buy the white SP. Never fails....

Both BBQ and I got silver Ones and they looks very tight. We were kicking it in a trendy Seattle coffee house doing some compedative Puzzle fighter via the Gameboy link cable and a good time was had by all. Also we saw a movie and played some puzzle fighters waiting for the movie to start and there was some Microsoft people in the audience who were impressed by it. One of the guys worked on Windows XP embedded so it was quite ironic.

For a jap gamecube you don't need to have it modded. You can get software (freeloader I believe its called) to boot up the cube for U.S. games. For a cheaper modded cube go here:

The link above is a game importer. Good stuf at really reasonable prices. I have shopped there before and always found what I wanted.
