Godzilla 2004: Here we go Again!

Godzilla, Mothra, MechagodzillaIt's almost May of 2003 now, and I had finally accepted the fact that there would not be a new Godzilla movie this year. But surprise surprise, Toho is hard at work on Godzilla movie #27, under the title "Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.!" Apparently it is a sequel to last year's Godzilla x Mechagodzilla, with both monsters returning and now Mothra making an apperance as well. If all the rumors are true, this is the first Godzilla movie for several years that actually makes reference to another G-movie besides the original. I for one like that idea. I thought the idea of erasing the past and starting a new history got tiresome when they started to do it every year. As for the premise of this new film, I would rather see a new monster or another old favorite than Mothra again. We see her every couple years or so. But I'm not complaining. A new Godzilla movie is a new Godzilla movie. As long as they keep them coming, I'll be happy. So I shall eagerly anticipate the big G's 27th big role. Also Mothra's 12th film and Mechagodzilla's 5th. Go, go, Godzilla! Behave violently large in the famous big city Japan!

The above site has Godzilla in comparison to other real and fictional objects, including King Kong. Who knew King Kong was such a shrimp? Staypuft's genitals are bigger.

So, I ask you, how did Godzilla and King Kong fight when King Kong could fit inside Godzilla's hand?

Posted by: A Delicious Young Prince at April 29, 2003 7:54 AM

They increased Kong's size for the 60s movie, he was just bigger and they never explained it so it is not the same time line as the 30s movie. And if you ask me Godzilla clearly won that fight.

There were a couple moments during that fight that I thought they were going to kiss.

Posted by: A Delicious Young Prince at April 29, 2003 12:20 PM

Well they both fell into the water and only Kong surfaced. Now Kong fans will say that is proof that Kong won. But the rest of us know that Kong was simply making a hasty retreat from Godzilla's turf!

NO WAY DUDE! KONG IS THE KING OF COOL!

Wait what the hell am i saying? Godzilla would totally OWN Kong.....Jeebus i am losing my mind over here...**takes a puff off the crack pipe**

They fought to a standstill, a tie. Toho knew that if Godzilla won, Kong fans would hate Toho forever. And if Kong won, Godzilla fans would hate them forever. So they made them tie. Kong surfaced not to retreat, but because Godzilla wasn't around and he thought the fight was over. That's also why Godzilla stopped fighting, but you didn't see him leave because he swims underwater. The final verdict was a tie, but if you watch when they both fall off the cliff and into the water, Godzilla was on top.

I say screw the King Kong fans. Godzilla came back and kicked ass in over twenty more movies. We all know Godzilla won.

Posted by: Jake at October 7, 2003 10:45 PM

I think the ending was intentionally vague, so that the viewer can interpret it as they want. All that aside, though, I KNOW that Godzilla won. How? Because I was there under the water with scuba gear and I saw it all. Godzilla smashed in Kong's face with a rock and then stuffed a giant sea urchin up his ass. Kong started crying and fled as fast as he could.

By the way, the same ending capped Monster Zero. Godzilla, Rodan and Ghidorah all fall into the ocean, and shortly after Ghidorah emerges and flies back into space for several years. No one cares about that ending though.

Actually, in the original Japanese King Kong vs. Godzilla, Godzilla surfaced. They changed the ending here in the States because Lord knows that we couldn't have something of ours look worse than anyone else's stuff.

Posted by: Charles at October 8, 2003 2:30 PM

No the ending was not changed for the US.

Posted by: Jake at October 8, 2003 2:40 PM

Kong surfaced in both versions. I have both of them. The only difference is that in the Japanese version you hear Kong and Godzilla roar at the end, and in the American version you only hear Kong roar. I don't know how that rumor got so widespread but it's not true. One thing that is true, though: Kong peed in the water.

Kong vs Godzilla was so incredibly bad, even for a Godzilla film. Black native japanese?
Oh well, anyway, we know G kicks all ass including giant apes. One shot of atomic breath would burn right through Kong and he would be D-E-D, dead.
;)

That is an amusing way of spelling DEAD. Those were supposed to be the people who lived on Kong's island.

Posted by: Jake at January 15, 2004 12:26 PM

Godzilla kick kongs ass kong won that fight by putting a tree down Godzilla to stop him from using is blast on kong but Godzilla still found a way to bet kong and that wen Godzilla just kong into the water becaues monkeys do not like water even kong came up 1st doesn't mean he won it means that he came up that all

O.K.

Truly you have a dizzying intellect and I cannot compete with that argument.

You have an inquisitive mind. I shall enter that fact into the memory banks of our computers.

godzilla can breath underwater so everyone knows he did not lose that fight.....and can anyone tell me where i can get destroy all monsters!!! please email me.

Posted by: blue at March 5, 2004 6:57 AM

umm, not to piss any of you off, but kong did win in the english version of the movie

toho decided that it would be bad to have america's monster defeated and show it to americans, so before they released it in japan they made the kong winning ending, whereas in japan they showed the godzilla winning ending

but counting both of those id say it was pretty much a tie

though personally i would have preferred godzilla to kick that monkeys ass in the english version anyway

hey man they should make a sequel 2 godzilla vs king kong and see who is the better monster we all know it's godzilla he would unleash a can of whoop ass on king kong they should use peter jacksons king kong and the godzilla from the 2 movies godailla against mechagodzilla and tokyo sos i think that godzilla model was the best 1 so they should use them and make round 2
